Woodwind Instructors

Staci R. Miller - Clarinet and Saxophone

Ms. Miller has earned a Bachelor of Music from Wichita State University and Master of Music from Michigan State University. She has also completed hours towards a Doctorate in Musical Arts from the University of North Texas. Her teachers include Jim Jones, Frank Ell, James Gillespie, Ted Lane, and Steven Cohen. She served as a member of the U.S. Air Force Band of the West Concert Band, Chamber Players, and NightHawk Jazz Ensemble. She is a member of the Charles River Wind Ensemble. Ms. Miller has 15 years of experience as a private clarinet and saxophone instructor.

Norman Jarvis - Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone

Ken Mamayek - Flute, Clarinet, and Saxophone

Eduardo Mandujano-Aguilar - Flute

BM (‘04) and MM (‘06) in Flute Performance from The Dana School of Music, Youngstown State University in Youngstown, OH. Studied the flute with Dr. Nancy Andrew, Dr. Kathryn Umble and William Bennett. Further studies with Jonathan Snowden in England. First Prize in the 2003 Dana Young Artist Competition. Principal flutist of the Dana Symphony Orchestra from 2002 to 2006. Flute instructor for the Warren Junior Military Band in Warren, OH from 2001 to 2004. Performances as a soloist and recitalist in the USA, Mexico, England and The Netherlands.

Heather Mandujano - Flute

Heather Mandujano earned a Bachelor of Music in Education degree with a flute emphasis, Magna Cum Laude, from Youngstown State University (Youngstown, OH) in 2005. While at YSU, she performed in the top ensembles, leading to many performances throughout the country including the National Flute Association Convention in Washington, D.C. and the New York Wind Band Festival at Carnegie Hall. In 2004, she traveled to London, England, to study with world-renowned flautist William Bennett at his International Flute Summer School. Prior to relocating to Massachusetts in 2007, Mrs. Mandujano spent the past nine years teaching flute lessons in a large private studio northeast Ohio. She has played the flute for 14 years, and her teachers include Dr. Kathryn Umble, Dr. Nancy Andrew, and Mrs. Rae Anne Cleal.

Jeanne Drumm - violin, viola, and piano

Doctor of Musical Arts in Viola Performance at New England Conservatory (ABD) where she studied with Carol Rodland, Marcus Thompson, Kim Kashkashian. BA/BM piano and chemistry, MM viola and piano, University of Washington. Principal viola for Cape Ann Symphony and Brockton Symphony; frequently performs as a violinist with the Plymouth Philharmonic, among others. Violin/viola coach and assistant conductor with Metrowest Youth Symphonies. Soloist with several Seattle-area groups; performances in Jordan Hall, MIT and Seattle's Meany Hall. Founding member of Meridian Chamber Ensemble. Festivals include Aspen, Salzburg, Killington, Lenk (Switzerland), and Bad Leonfelden (Austria). Guest lecturer at the International Viola Congress in 2002. Former teachers include Helen Callus, Craig Sheppard and Patricia Michaelian. Jeanne has been teaching for 20 years and directs the Robinson Music Chamber Ensemble program.

Peter Hughes

Worcester native Peter Hughes studied violin as a scholarship student with chairpersons Eric Rosenblith of the New England Conservatory and Janet Packer of the Longy School of Music. Additionally Peter completed with honors music theory programs with Judy Ross and Eric Sawyer at the Longy School. A free lance violinist in greater Boston since 1994, Mr. Hughes has performed with the Lyric Stage, Reagle Players, Speakeasy Stage Company, Life Story Theater, Boston Children's Theater, and Musique Makers, a trio performing classical and jazz styles. In 1973 Peter auditioned for the Worcester Orchestra and at age fifteen he became the symphony's youngest professional, and credits his early entry into professional music to the encouragement of his high school music teacher, Fred Orkiseski. Recently Mr.Hughes participated in the annual Shakespeare Concerts with performances this year at Smith College and Clark University. Linda Scenna - violin

BM in violin performance from the University of Lowell. Linda has free-lanced extensively in the New England area in a variety of venues including symphonies, choruses, opera, musical theatre and various name acts. She is currently a member of Thayer Symphony, New Bedford Symphony and the Hillyer Festival Orchestra. Her teachers have included BSO players Joseph McGauley and Ronan Lefkowitz.

Stan Johnson - Trumpet

Scholarship Performance Studies, Henry Ford College, Scholarship Performance Studies, Wayne State University, Performance Diploma, Berklee College of Music, B.A., Berklee College of Music, Graduate theory courses, UMass Lowell. Mr. Johnson has been teaching in the Boston area for ten years. He has performed with local leading acts including Rick Russell, Ron Levy, Sweet Willie ‘D’ and toured with Mighty Sam Mclain as well as performances in jazz festivals in Boston, Chicago, Detroit, New Orleans and Montreaux Switzerland. Production and release of two solo CD’s plus credits on three additional releases.

Ed Clough - Trombone

Ed studied music performance at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, NY and then at Boston University. His trombone instructors were William Harris and Ronald Barron. His chamber music coaches were from Empire Brass. In 1986, Ed co-founded the Boston Brass quintet. As a member of Boston Brass, Ed averaged 120+ memorized performances per year in 49 states, Canada, France, England, Japan, Taiwan and Singapore. Ed is a performing artist with the Conn-Selmer Company. Ed has taught master classes in trombone and chamber music to students of all levels around the world. For Ed, appropriate application of theory and history are essential elements in music performance. Along with instrumental technique, his students use singing and memorization to help understand solo and ensemble performance.

Chris Enright

Born in Rochester, New York and raised in Bath, Maine, Chris Enright has had a passion for music all of his life. After receiving considerable scholarships from Berklee College of Music's World Scholarship Tour, and Berklee's Entering Student Talent Scholarship, Chris left Bath and made his way to Boston where earned his bachelors degree in piano performance and jazz composition, graduating cum laude. During enrollment, Chris' musical skills were developed with the help of Berklee's exceptional faculty, including Danilo Perez, Joanne Brackeen, Hal Crook, Tiger Okoshi, Joe Lovano, and George Garzone. He also traveled and performed with Phil Wilson's Rainbow Band and Rainbow All-Stars. Both groups have appeared at the "Vineyard Vibes Jazz Festival" in Martha's Vineyard, as well as the "International Association of Jazz Educators Conference" in Long Beach, California. Outside of Berklee, Chris played piano and composed for a trombone ensemble called "Against The Grain." After forming, the group won and performed at the "Eastern Trombone Workshop" held in Washington DC, won and performed at the "International Trombone Festival" held in New Orleans, released a self-titled CD, and appeared in the July, 2004 issue of "JAZZIZ" magazine.

Karen Amlaw

Earned her bachelors degree from the University of Rochester / Eastman School of Music. She has much experience teaching young children. Previously she has taught general music as part of the after-school programs for Belmont Street Community School in Worcester, MA and Edgerton Daycare in Rochester, New York. Currently Karen shares her musical talents with children as the general music teacher for the YWCA in both Westborough and Worcester. In addition to her teaching, Karen is also an active singer whose teachers/coaches have included Karen Lykes, Maria Ferrante, Brian Moll, Bradley Pennington, Olga Rogach and world renowned soprano Maria Spacagna. Karen will be using the Kids on Keyes program for young beginning piano students.

Jack Shanahan - Guitar

Peter Boardman – Guitar and Bass

She has been a featured soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and has been a soloist with Newton Choral Society, Assabet Valley Mastersingers, Masterworks Chorale, and Cantata Singers Chamber Series. Ms.Wilson has been teaching locally for the past four years and is also on the voice faculty at Franklin School for the Performing Arts and a member of NATS.

Mary Ann Powers

Soon to receive her MM in Vocal Pedagogy, MM in Vocal Performance from New England Conservatory, and holds a BM in Vocal Performance From Ohio University. Ms. Powers has experience teaching classical voice, musical theater, and breathing techniques for singers and wind/brass players. She has performed a diverse variety of repertoire ranging from Baroque chamber music to New music premieres. Full roles include: Cis from Albert Herring, Ida Zinga from a contemporized twist of Grease, and Pamina (understudy) from The Magic Flute; and has performed scenes as Susanna, Marenka, Ora 3 from Legisto, and Fiordiligi.

Sudie Marcuse - Soprano

Holds a Masters degree in voice performance from the University of Massachusetts, and has taught voice at Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, Deerfield Academy and Suffield Academy, in addition to teaching privately for over twelve years. She has been a featured soloist with the Arcadia Players Baroque Orchestra, the Hampshire Choral Society, Greater Westfield Choral Association, and other area groups; critics have praised her “clarity, precision and grace,” “distinctive technique,” and “riveting dramatic force.” She is a member of the touring vocal ensemble Cantabile, and sings regularly with the professional choirs of the Church of the Advent in Boston and Temple Shalom in Newton. Sudie enjoys working with both young and adult singers. Although firmly grounded in classical technique, her teaching has helped singers of all styles, including musical theatre, jazz and rock, to sing with more ease and enjoy singing more.
